Seahawk Metal
Seahawk Metal
is the robotics club at Sunlake High School. There are two competitive levels of the club that are broken up into Junior Varsity (VEX) and Varsity (FIRST/FRC). Each has their own set of standards but the club as a whole has the same basic philosophy: hard work forges advancement. Everything begins with the will to create something greater. To put this in the words of NASA Astronaut Neil Armstrong, "I think we're going to the moon because it's in the nature of the human being to face challenges. It's by the nature of his deep inner soul... we're required to do these things just as salmon swim upstream." Being a part of an extracurricular activity in the STEM field is perfect for those who see the world as something that can be improved upon. We are the future. Our competitions are perfect stepping stones to help students create experiences and learn about STEM fields that can in the future be applied to life and careers.
Minneola High School: Robot 3023C arrives at the competition.
